Ghost towns - there's an app for that

Was poking around the App Store and came across a ghost town app put out by the AllStays group, http://www.allstays.com/apps/. Some towns have full details about them while others do not. All are shown on the map. Oregon shows 42 while Nevada shows 55 of both types. The best one I found was Idiotville, Oregon. It was an old logging camp that was so remote that you had to be an idiot to work there.

Idiotville is not so remote anymore - just off the pavement about halfway between Portland and the beach. Not much there, but I'll see if I can get some photos tomorrow. The problem with western Oregon is that 100" of rain a year causes anything made of wood to rot, metal to rust, and anything else to grow moss. It's not like the ghost towns in the desert. Too bad, because the history gets forgotten.
