Google maps Now with GPS way points

Google maps now has a plug in that
shows GPS as you move mouse

Then, right click and it drops a GPS coordinate Pin

Very very cool

Buyer beware, it sticks on the point of origin of the map for me. Like: I google an intersection, navigate to a nearby trail head, center the map on the trail head, right click on the trailhead and get GSP coordinates, translate them, plug them into my Garmin and, voilà, I have a waypoint at the intersection I first searched for.

Hope they've fixed it since then.. seemed like it would be a real nice feature.

i have 4 freaking map programs
all crap FOR ME, except Microsoft MapPoint
the others all require a MIT degree

Took a while for me to find this! For anyone else: in Google Maps, click the green beaker in the top-right menu, then scroll all the way down to LatLng Marker. Thanks bw, good find.

Works well for me - marks the point, not the search, as it did for Jage.

(I also dig the Drag 'n' Zoom one)

Wish they had it on the mobile version. Thats the only thing missing on a great phone app. Then I wont need to carry my garmin everywhere.
