Guided NM trip

The guide is local to me, and I have not taken any trips with him, just passing along, no affiliation.

I'm on his mailing list, so I got the announcement for the trip. I asked him about SMB's (or full sized vans), and here's his response.

"As for 4X4 vans/SMB's, the CDT route should accommodate stock roof lines and low profile pop-up roofs without racks or roof mounted equipment. Full sized width is no problem."

Areas of exploration will include San Juan Mountains, Continental Divide, Taos Plateau, Sangre de Christo Mountains, and Valle Vidal.

Would be interesting to see if other van owners have made it through the same trails and their thoughts on overhead restrictions. All our vans are different heights. I just did a trail with CellularSteve and our vans side by side were certainly different in height but I have more lift, larger tires and the rack makes it look taller. I got to a point on the trail that a large limb stopped me from making the end of the trail...Steve could of probably made it. Then there have been times where people have said there is no way my van could get through but I've made it. The worst is heading down a difficult trail only finding you gotta go back

This year's trip is coming up. I won't make it, but reality is it may have to wait until I retire in a few years.

No go for us this year, but next year I'll put it on the calendar. That looks great.
