Guns In National Parks?

Saw something on the Colbert Report about guns being allowed in National Parks now. It was a rider on another bill that Obama signed, so barely mentioned. Anyone following this?

Re: Guns In National Parks?

The bill does not necessarily allow firearms in national parks. Now, the laws of the state within which the park is located will control. Essentially, the bill only eliminated the ability of the National Park Service to impose more restrictive firearm rules than the surrounding state.

Re: Guns In National Parks?

The problem was people who drive through National Parks with firearms were technically in violation of law. This solves that specific issue. People had to actually drive around National Parks. Many state laws allow loaded forearms in campgrounds, this solves that in National Parks.
