I'm telling you guys don't go there. Knocking on wood right now.

I don't know anybody that has had an issue with an electric top other than bending the bars cause they forgot to release the latches.

Did I do that? NO, it just caught the rear bracket on the way up... I swear.

Re: How tough are the pop up roofs to lift?

Can anyone post up a video that shows the electric top going up and down from start to finish? I've heard people say it takes 30 seconds and others saying it takes near 2 minutes.

Definitely wont be the most riveting video ever, but I think it'll be helpful since there has been talk about how long it takes to get the top up and down. Theres videos on youtube posted by CCV on their tops, but I haven't been able to find any SMB tops.

The old ones like mine are slower IIRC.

Re: How tough are the pop up roofs to lift?

We have a 1994 GMC with a manual pop top and my 5'0" wife can pop it with no problem although it always gets away from her and kind of bangs into the raised position. If she kept hanging on the handles it would take her up with it. It's a little harder to bring down and she can't do that as well on her own.

Re: How tough are the pop up roofs to lift?

An update,

I just got a manual popup, and it's not an issue.

The surgeon who preformed the failed shoulder surgery gave me a really grim prognosis, that hasn't reflected my experience at all.

I plan on choking him out with the arm he did surgery on... or maybe just a bimbo slap and let him off easy.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions.
