Saw this on a preview for 60 Minutes. They were using it to get up to the Iceland volcanoes. Not sure how much van footage there will be but the segment airs tonight.

Reminds me of that great book by Roland Huntford: The Last Place on Earth. Great book and great mini series on PBS back in the late 1980's.

Amundsen claimed the Pole in 1911 and made the adventure look like a cake walk. Captain Scott and his five-man party died of starvation and exposure. Really showed the difference between planning, respect for the environment you will be in and just trying to use brawn and muddle through.

Enjoyed the PBS series so much I also read the book.
