Japan Fall out Bug Out...but to where???

I found KTMRider and Goodeberry in the mountains. All is well, but we haven't found any Zombies yet. So can't report how the front bumpers will do in an emergency...

Couple of things to remember:
Radiation induced cancers aside from thyroid take 20+ years to develop
Common emission is I 131 which can be blocked with organic iodine and is the isotope that can cause thyroid cancer which rarely kills anyone and is very treatable
High doses of radiation cause radiation sickness and kills quickly from immune suppression- the workers at the plant in Japan have or will develop this

Coincidentally, April marks the 25th anniversary of the disaster at Chernobyl. This documentary is a good breakdown of what actually happened there and how severe the consequences can be if a serious release of radioactive material occurs. Well worth watching.

Also coincidentally, the NY Academy of sciences has recently released translations of Soviet reports of the consequences of Chernobyl. (You have to sign up to get the full text but the report was summarized on the news) The Soviets attribute something like a million deaths to the disaster and anticipate more over the next few decades. Watch the movie and you'll see how this could have occurred.
