I've been drag racing air-cooled VW's for a while, below is my '68 VW Fastback at a televised NHRA Import race in Denver

Finishing swapping out a transaxle before first round, with my daughters

The A Fuel dragster team that I crewed for 12yrs ago. Worked at it for 5yrs, a couple different cars, blown on alcohol, un-blown on nitromethane. Sadly, we never won anything big. I think this was taken at a televised National event at Pomona. It was a fun 5yrs, great guys! Matt Seltzer was the driver. I crewed on a Top Fuel car at one event, as well. It's not as glamorous as you'd think.

Interacting with the kids was a lot of fun! My buddy, Simon's son, Kadon

Two of the several Bonneville Karmann Ghias I've raced/driven for buddy Britt Grannis, the below was the car owner and I, happy to get into the 130mph club on the 1 mile course

In 2016, I teamed up with another buddy on this black Ghia, my drag race engine, his car. Greg spun out at 150mph, tore the front airdam off, and it spit out the windshield!

My buddy Greg and I getting some 'magazine love' Bettle Ball Rally Champions

Tom great stuff, personally I go to those events and enjoy watching those that can do.Just got back from Bonneville and really love that Salt.
I am a little lazier and do enjoy building but not the skills for racing.More of a cruiser type!

I spent a few years racing the Baja 1000 with the Becker Brothers. 2015 was there last and 30th year racing the Baja 1000. Now I am trying to find a new team to keep racing with.

I'll be taking the Performance Driving Clinic at Buttonwillow on December 9. It will be my first time on a track, though this car is no stranger to the canyons. I have been working on modifications to my car for about 6 months and have pushed it as far as I can while keeping it "streetable". I'll be driving up this time, but if the bug bites, I may have to trailer it up with the SMB next time.
