Re: New baby + new house project = SMB Remodel? or SMB Sale

For the record, I'm in favor of keeping the van and remodeling. Just need to convince my wife. So that's the angle I need help with. And, unfortunately, sentimental isn't going to work!

Re: New baby + new house project = SMB Remodel? or SMB Sale

You could find a few examples of what would work for your family and see how much they cost. Then estimate what you think your van is worth and how much the remodel will cost. If they're both in the same ball park, your wife would hopefully agree that keeping your van and remodeling it to make it what you want would be better than selliing and buying a van you know nothing about. Plus, with the remodel, you will have new furniture, rather than old furniture that someone else has slept on for years and years.

Now there's a good point. Sanitation! Moms love sanitation. Good point about the furniture as well.

And watching prices over the years, we will be in the same cost ballpark with a remodel or rebuy, so sticking with the van I know is preferable to me.

Thanks mikracer
