New Years in the Tetons

The last couple of years my wife and I have spent New Years in the Tetons. We usually spend a night or two in the SMB and then get a hotel in Jackson for New Years night. This year we only had Monday night so we left the SMB at home. We spent a beautiful Monday afternoon in the Park yesterday, had dinner at Merry Piglets (Mexican Restaurant in Jackson, one of our favorites), Baileys by the fire and a quiet celebration for New Years. We headed into the Park today hoping the weather would clear for a view of the Mountains. It didn't cooperate except for about an hour around noon.

Plenty of moose out past Kelly. They tend to winter in the sage. This was one of six or seven fairly close to the road.

The last light of 2012 on the Grand Teton.

The sun came out for a while around noon today and lifted the clouds just enough for a quick peak of the mountains for the first view of 2013.

Happy New Year to all. Hope all your 2013 adventures are fun and many. Looking forward to the 2013 meet and greet in this great national park.

Mike and Kris
