Mornin guys just wanted to update you that after really thinking about the feedback members gave me I ended up buying a 2007 F150 supercrew 5.4 v8 4x4 xlt mechanic owned with shell and new all terrains ko2’s for $9,600.00 member carringb got the F150 bouncing around my skull and since this is the first 4x4 I will have since high school 34 years ago I will need to re-learn driving offroad and it will no doubtedly have pinstripes from bushes etc i thought with this price range I wouldn’t feel the guilt of a $40k rig I’m bouncing around and leaves me about $10-k for some decent suspension.it was a daily driver with no offroad use,not one scratch on factory skid plates, suspension, frame etc.only towing it saw was a small utility trailer to pick up firewood etc.guy is retired now and has a small car.

It has some goofy Monroe coil overs and some stink bug butt that will be addressed.doug kept detailed maintenance log/receipts,no leaks, interior like new and the the supercrew with electric windows will keep my wife and dog happy!! I will go to the local desert for a shakedown run before my one week camping trip to Baja Mexico starting 2/17 for some offroad/beach camping.

Good choice! Raptor is tough to beat as a desert go fast truck from the factory. If sand blasting isn’t your thing, the 150 will be great!

Nice photos. Your route is pretty much the exact same one we did in November after the 1000. The mission was pretty cool too..................

Thought I would kick this old thread, what do you guys think of dodges new Trx prerunner 4x4? I’m closely watching to see what fords response will be as they’ve had no challengers since starting the raptor,as a matter of fact I only hear crickets haha and they have already released all of thier 2021 f150 models, either way if they do respond it can only mean good things for us possible consumers when there’s competition
