Pandering to the morons

Hi,

This link describes the latest in the pandering companies are forced to do in the wake of ambulance chasers and morons getting away with idiotic actions. More bubble wrapping of the masses:

News | Hitting the minor notes: Charger chock recall

Three incidents of owner error led us to this point. Brainless idiots.

Regards,

Gavin

I get where you're coming from - but if the instructions say to chock the tires, it's reasonable to expect they provide a chock.

Most of my other vehicles have included a chock or other mechanism in the kit. My van's are very sturdy. The BMW folding ones are very trick. My Subaru didn't include them (economy car), but the manual there specifically included instructions for "improvising" one.

Here's where we're headed... or maybe we are already there?

The car companies will stop including a jack and spare tire, instead, the owners manual will simply read "In case of deflated tire, stop driving immediately. Have your Dodge towed to the nearest authorize Dodge/Chrysler dealer"

Heck we do that already on our Mini Cooper S. It comes stock without spare, but with run-flat tires. They were so terrible and so stiff, I jettisoned them and got normal tires, and a can of fix-a-flat. If we get a flat that the can doesn't fix, we call AAA. Of course, we haven't had to do either yet.
