Rooftop Air Conditioners
Hiya.
For those of you who can have, and want, a rooftop A/C... I have found one that uses the least amount of energy and also draws the lowest amps during compressor startup. It's not low profile, but it uses less energy than even the Polar Cub 9200btu! That was my go-to until I did a little more research.
So, the model is "Coleman 48208C966 Airxcel 08-0056 Mach III Ps 13.5 Arctic White". It weighs 90lbs and is... um... ugly. But it's 13,500btu's and has great reviews. So if you have solar/decent battery bank/inverter... this is the least power hungry unit you can get for the roof. It's exact number are:
Full-Load cooling amps: 11.2
Standard Running Watts: 1,190
Some people are running this with the Honda 2000 generator.
Just some food for thought if anyone is thinking about giving up their stealth and beating some heat...
