Scribbles (my cat) Update

As some of you know our kitty Scribbles got in a fight and had a bad infection right before Moab. She got surgery on Saturday and by Sunday was well enough to toss in the van. Quite of you have been concerned so I wanted to be sure to update everyone that she is doing great.

She actually did great, twice a day medicine and heating wraps whenever we could manage. We removed her drain tube on Wednesday in the SMB with the help of REF and his wife (Rick kind of stood back being allergic to cats).

That and Angel's constantly open door to let us heat the wrap in her microwave made this an excellent trip for us and Scribbles- I can't thank you guys enough.

By Thursday she was nearly back to her old self, and rode around all day with us. By Friday she was frisky again, and on the way home actually spent time on the counter behind my head while we drove home.

She has always travelled well, and we're thankful we could take this trip and keep her cool and happy in the SMB. I'm going to add some photos here in a bit, but I wanted to give everyone an update before I forgot.

Re: Scribbles (my cat) Update

Great to hear Jage. It's amazing how attached people, myself included, can get to pets.

My dynamic duo, Barley and Pint.

Re: Scribbles (my cat) Update

Jeremiah, I'm very happy to hear all this. We all want a good outcome.

When I was in Africa last year for nearly three weeks, my then 19 year old fabulous furry feline friend Bud took ill and nearly died. My wife, who faced this ordeal alone, really thought the flu was about to kill him that night. Our vet came by for days and gave him fluid injections. Finally after many days, he was able to lift his head and look at her. It was uphill from there. BUT, I was away from cell phone range for a week in Tanzania while I knew this was going on, not knowing a thing except he was way ill, and when I finally got thru (an $85 phone call, well worth it) I got the better news. I just collapsed on the bed crying in joy knowing I would see my Bud when I got home. He got sick before I left, and I really thought I would never see him again, and that my emotional basketcase wife would have to deal with his demise alone. And now, he is strong as ever at age 20. He is the imbominable Budman!

Cats ride. Dogs drive.

Best wishs for a full recovery for your beast jage.

ED !! You are not helping..... photos like that will lead to our family expanding !

(seriously, we can't wait to get some critters that can share the SMB from time to time.... but we have a fence to put around 2/3 of an acre first)
