Re: Send good vibes UPDATE 11-3-12

UPDATE
Brother Jamie is in a real struggle here. This is a FB update from his fiance Suzann (she is a physician):

"I am seriously grateful for the WONDERFUL doctors and nurses at El Camino Hospital. I can't tell you how terrific it is here. I wish all hospitals were like this one. Jamie May have TTP and it is causing liver and kidney failure. They are doing plasmaphoresis now and hopefully can turn it around. For those of you who know TTP only had a 10% survival rate before plasmaphoresis. Please donate blood if you can. It can truly save someone's life. Much love to you all!"

Re: Send good vibes

If he needs blood, can blood be donated in his name? I think it's been less than 8 weeks since my last donation, but I'm fairly close to being able to donate again.

Re: Send good vibes

No info on blood donations. He is apparently unresponsive at this point, is getting 5 days of platelet transfusions, but some recent improvement in liver performance and platelet counts according to his missus.

I think I'm correct in assuming it would be OK for forum members to contact her on FB. Her name is SUZANN WANG (Menlo Park CA). Try and "friend" her for more info. I have linked this thread to her FB updates, so she is aware (and touched) that the forum is following his progress... sez he will be touched, also.
