Saw this parked in Issaquah, Wa at a shop that works on such things.

OK, here is a nice one for you. I think it's a 1972. The interior was similar to an RB50 and the whole thing was beautiful. Saw it in Jupiter, FL near the beach with a bunch of surfer kids driving it.

Here in Bozeman I've seen a few SMB's roll through campus...

Seen this guy park right outside of the dorm rooms a dozen times last week, saw him again this week, thought I'd go down and try to make a buddy to hit the trails with... Turns out the dude who owns it was the "Yeah whatever, sod off" type.

Well, that's a bummer for the first time meeting someone else with a 4x4 Econoline.

We're camping at South Carlsbad State Beach this week and I spotted this van driving around with its pop top up...

Huh?!?.....
Either
1. They forgot to secure the latches and it suddenly popped up...whoops!
2. They couldn’t pull the top down cause they’ve done this before and bent the hell out of the arms
3. SMB used to build their tops with much thicker crossbars to allow this, highly unlikely (or the owner sleeved them and is just showing off)
4. The owners let their (ex)dear old friends borrow the rig......[emoji2959]

Huh, that one looks a lot like my van! Slightly different color scheme, but otherwise basically the same.

Driving off with the top up is something I'm kinda paranoid about. I actually did it once in a Westfalia, but the breeze and oddly bright interior clued me in before I could snag it on a tree. ;>

On my Sportsmobile I have the somewhat obsessive habit of reaching back and feeling the top latch behind my head, before shifting into gear.

I parked next to a long/tall dark grey Sprinter 4x4 with Agile suspension at the North Broadway Starbucks in Santa Maria, CA around 9:30 this morning. Are you local?

After a couple months I finally met the folks around the block from us who recently bought this RB50 from someone in California and brought it home to NM.

Someone or somedealer? Can't tell(not familiar) if that's a temp-tag from NM or a dealer plate from CA.

If it's from a dealer and 6.0.... hope they had a mechanic worth their salt go through it with a PPI... Even from a private party who is honest, it's probably worthwhile. Last thing anyone wants is to buy an expensive toy and have it go kaput at the beginning of ownership

Always cool to have a buddy right around the corner to go adventuring with, if that becomes a thing

It's got NM tags, not temp tags. I got the impression it was bought from a private party and it has had the motor bulletproofed. Always good to have other SMBs nearby!
