Re: SMB vs. Mr. Money Mustache

I retired at age 59 eleven years ago. But don't think that just because you are retired, you'll have all of the time you need for anything you want to do....unless you have no hobbies, no other interests, no other committments. By the time you retire, your parents, if they are still with us, will start requiring more of your time. To get away for a week in our SMB requires that we pick a week a couple of months in advance and then work to make sure that it stays empty without committments. My wife and I don't go to the doctor very often but we make sure that routine appointments take place during the same week and get haircuts on the same day...just to try to keep as many days open as possible.

I'm not the type that will sit on the beach doing nothing...I instead fill my "empty" time with my hobby. Not complaining, just sharing what we have learned...

Re: SMB vs. Mr. Money Mustache

Well, I made the call to Van Specialties yesterday to do a remodel so that we can seat all five of us in the SMB. Pretty excited as we haven't done a family van trip since baby #2 arrived and we exceeded the 3 seats in the SMB. Still interested in not working forever, and still on track for that, but shoot, the two things that make me happiest are traveling and adventures, and that's why I bought a Sportsmobile. So I'm recommitting to use it and love it!

I think a lot of people are going to be very interested in your remodel. Please be sure to keep us posted.
