SMB West Sponsors Forum on Expedition Portal

I just noticed this today. Nice to see they are taking an active role.

No, we must CRUSH that sponsorship, and that part of ExPo! This forum must be the universal resource for SMB related discussions.

Do you really want those people coming over here?

Re: SMB West Sponsors Forum on Expedition Portal

I am pretty active over at EP. Historically there was one section in the forum for vans. Than UJoint steps up and sponsors that section. Great for UJoint, now they get some great exposure and get to "own" that section.

Now SMB says i want to pay to play. Split the sections just for them? Seems like a bad move IMO. I think there are better ways for EP to have handled this. What if Quigley wanted to sponsor a section, would they open up another section?

Sorry for the rant. That site has a lot of great info, but the way they run it just doesn't make any sense.

I didn't realize that the split off an SMB-only section from the 4x4 van section. Yeah, that seems pretty lame, and pandering to new sponsors. Maybe we need a U-Joint Offroad section here!

Re: SMB West Sponsors Forum on Expedition Portal

Chris is not even a vendor over here but everybody kind of knows he sells stuff, but he doesn't post "Hey, I sell kits! Buy Ujoint" which is exactly how it's supposed to work!

Let's change that!

I wish you guys could have seen my face when I saw the split. I had no idea it was going to happen, and my heart skipped a few beats until I scrolled down.

It is what it is, and I appreciate the support from everyone. I even received a few phone calls!

I agree, that is a bad move on EP behalf. I also hope SMBW are as active / helpful as UJoint/Chris, he seems to have a wealth of information that he is constantly sharing & helping others with. But somehow I don't think they will be.

Not exactly accurate. Jonny has made 4 posts. While they are not exactly burning up the internet with information, they are responding. The lack of posts for SMB specific is probably attributable to the vast amount of information that is on this site.
