JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. -- Jackson Hole airport crews had to plow a 757 aircraft out of a snow bank after it slide off the runway on Wednesday.

Taking a look at the American Airlines plane there is minimal evidence of the frightening situation that happened earlier in the day. With 175 passengers and six crew members on board, American Airlines flight 2253 from Chicago landed at Jackson Hole Airport at 11:37 a.m. Moments after landing the massive aircraft slid 658 feet off of the runway. There were no reports of injuries.

"It went into the deep snow at the end of the runway, and we were able to bring stairs in with snow plows," Airport Director Ray Bishop said.

Airport procedure called for the entire airport to close for two hours. That's the time it took to move the aircraft off of the runway. But, as you can imagine, that left hundreds of frustrated passengers.

"First they said 15 minutes,” traveler Tayler Brinson said. “Then they said 3:30. Then they said the airport was closed. Then they said we may be out be six. Then, they canceled the flight again.”

"Get it together guys,” traveler Carol Bocker said. “Get it together.”

Hundreds of passengers where shuttled to Salt Lake City hoping to finally get home.

"It’s gonna be like six hours, and your just sitting there," traveler Andi Brinson.

Others were shuttled back to their hotels, hoping for better luck on Thursday.

American Airlines still stands by its statement that the incident was not weather related.
I think I saw this in a movie once.

Nope that was five minutes before posting. Of course I've plowed twice since then, and it's now about 10º but yesterday morning was t-shirt and vest weather.
