Solar overload

OK, not SMB related, but yesterday we had the installation of our solar panels completed on our house.

29 LG solar panels, each capable of producing 315W of solar goodness for a total of 9.1kW. This should give us net zero electricity over the course of a year; we'll have a modest bill over the Summer months, but the other months should give us a positive balance.

Looks nice Herb. Do they allow a battery system where you're at?

I've seen some homes with battery backup but I've heard someone tell me that battery systems are 'on hold' because of battery issues. Not high on my priority list regardless.

Big up front outlay, so I'm waiting on my tax credits next April 15th.

Nice, we installed 24 panels and haven't paid a bill for over a year now.

Did you go with micro inverters?

Nice Herb! What advantages do micro inverters provide other than not having a large grid tie inverter bolted to the side of your house?

depending on how you wire your series/parallel strings, you still have the same current coming off the roof, no?......so same required wire sizes?
