Sportsmobile sighting times 6 in San Carlos, Mexico yesterda

So there I was in the Hotel Fiesta Real in San Carlos, Mexico. When I checked in there were only two cars in the parking lot. When I peek outside later that evening look what I saw. I had never seen more than one at a time anywhere until yesterday.

Anyone on this site belong to one of those rigs?

I think I'm going to make up a simple card that has this sites address on it to spread the word. I'm sure most if not all of those owners would love to know about this site.

I never did meet any of the other owners. Never saw them anywhere.

There is a group of SMB's in Mexico right now that are traveling with Alan and Liz. Might be this group. One of the group is part of the expeditionportal.com website. He has posted some updates from the road.

The orange SMB was/still is the newest SMBw show van, so that's likely Alan there. Of course, you've probably all met up in the bar by now over a few margaritas.

That is the group travelling with Alan and Liz. Scott Brady (founder of expeditionportal) and one of the founding editors of Overland Journal is posting their progress on the expeditionportal website. Some nice pictures of a 2008 SMB. Additionally there will be a complete write up on the trip and the van in the summer or fall issue of Overland Journal.

No chance to meet up with them. I was in AZ the next day. I was in a motel because I didn't have my van with me. I flew down to cabo to drive my Mom out to her winter home.

I'll check out the trip report.
