Re: Sportsmobile - The cure for the common RV
I guess that is why I gave it to them. Now if I was a Tweeter I could see it.

What's a twitter page? Something for a smart phone or can you see it on the net? All I have are standard cell phones...dumb phones I guess.

Re: Sportsmobile - The cure for the common RV
Do you text message? Twitter is like text messaging only it's broadcast to people who subscribe (think Facebook Like) to your Twitter account. (As opposed to a text message which is narrowcast to the people you select. Or, if you're of a certain age, you could call it a telegram that anyone can read if they know you exist, have asked permission to listen in, and you've said OK.) Twitter's messages are called tweets and are limited to 140 characters. Here's an interesting article on how the character limits came about : http://lat.ms/tj6bOA.

Re: Sportsmobile - The cure for the common RV
No texting either. I only have a simple ATT GoPhone to make phone calls. It costs $3/day on the days I use it, and nothing on the other days. So far, it costs about $75 a year for me. And, I don't really need more. I own a Sportsmobile to get away, not to take it with me.

That is the simplest, most concise description of Twitter that I've ever seen. And since I think having the opportunity for anyone to read my pithy, sometimes cynical, 140 character thoughts would just get me in trouble, I do not Tweet!

Blushing here. Please note, it took 431 characters.

Re: Sportsmobile - The cure for the common RV
Mac's link worked. Now that I see what tweets can be, I can understand why the kids like Twitter - most of them can't put together a thought longer than that anyway.
Personally, I'd rather talk to someone than tweet or text. A large part of communication is subtle and hidden in inflections or body language. And, by comparison, even a phone conversation seems mechanical and lacking real interpersonal contact. Maybe that is why some of my posts seem lengthy? Just trying to communicate clearly.
