Stove In A Can

Just stumbled across this today on the interwebs. Don't remember if it's been discussed before.

Stove In A Can *edited:jage

Quote:
Stove In A Can is a portable, self-contained cooking platform, that gives you a week's worth of cooking. Virtually anything that can be cooked on a regular stove can be cooked on a Stove In A Can

* Cooks for 4-6 hours (1 week's worth of cooking time)
* Boils water in 5 minutes
* Holds over 300 lbs
* Stores indefinitely and safely (no chemicals)
* Can be lit and re-lit
It reads that it supports over 300 pounds. I myself don't usually cook anything that heavy but I guess if you're in the mood for "liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti" this might be the stove for you.

Pretty cool, campfire is a must however we don't carry wood and it would be nice to roast marshmallows when camping on the way and way back. I guess you close the can to extinguish the fuel and preserve some for future cooking?

From the web page:

Quote:
HOW TO EXTINGUISH

The flame can be extinguished at any time by removing the cooking ring and placing the lid back on the stove. CAUTION: The cooking ring will be hot. Remove with care.

Re: Stove In A Can

Looks like it would be a safe stove to pack in a car trunk. I like the fuel source.

They don't seem to sell additional fuel tabs. They expect you to buy multiple cans instead...

They're for sale everywhere, looks like it's targeted at the emergency contingency market. 12 pack on amazon for $299.... that's a 12 pack of the whole Stove in a Can, not fuel cells.

Saw 4 cans and 16 fuel cells for 70 bucks. Their web site is not constructed yet.

Re: Stove In A Can

I'm with QuickStove.com that sells the Stove In A Can. I would be happy to answer any questions. We're adding replacement fuel cells to the website shortly. In the meantime, the replacements can be purchased via phone orders.

Does anyone know how I get a vendor tag?

Re: Stove In A Can

Spencer (QuickStove) is working up an ad, but in the meantime you can use SMBF1 as a referral code for the forum discount. There will also be a separate 4-pack deal in the near future. Just FYI in case anyone is stuck shopping over the holiday weekend.
