Swimming hole boondocking in San Diego/LA area?

I know I might be asking too much here, but just in case...does anyone have ideas for boondocking (or uncrowded developed campgrounds) near water that you can swim in (either ocean, stream or lake)? I'm hoping to head out this weekend but would like to keep it within 4 hours of San Diego.

Thank you!!

Baja Malibu,

K-38.

Lake Cuyamaca might not be to crowed.

I never camped at Lake Elsinore just raced around it. (Many moon ago) check it out although probably all houses now.

I always just went to the desert.

have fun

Ron

Re: Swimming hole boondocking in San Diego/LA area?

I found this site when I was looking for swimming holes around Santa Barbara... a minor mechanical trouble (not my Ford) held me up and kept me from visiting any of them. There's a directory for San Diego, too:

Cheers,
Mike.
