Re: test drive?

I ain't sayin' that was real or not real, but I will say this... Ol' twogone would been beatin' the side of Jeff Gordon's face in before we even got out of the parkin' lot... yeah, really

Re: test drive?

I think I'd wave the BS flag on that being real. Could you imagine the liability that Pepsi would be under if there had been an accident on public streets?

Re: test drive?

I doubt liability is a factor being it's all done on private property. You'd have to know that the other vehicle is one of theirs. It's all on parking lots or entrances to property...whether the passenger knew about it I don't know.

Creative marketing Blaa Blaa Blaa from Pepsi. I appreciate the creativity but it's just another add.

Re: test drive?

the dude looked genuinely scared, but agreed. you cant pull off that kind of driving on public streets very often without willy bustus showing up...and theres no way it happened that perfect in one take.

Re: test drive?

If it were real, in today's litigious society, that car dealership employee could have won lawsuits against his dealership, against Pepsi, and against Jeff Gordon. Probably could have collected disability as well if he was traumatized enough not to be able to perform his job anymore, not that anyone would ever exaggerate a claim like that....

Re: test drive?

In the article I read the salesperson didn't know, the dealership was in on it though.

Troutman praised his unknowing salesperson Steve.

"He did a great job,” Troutman said. “He fell right in to it and a lot of his reactions were very realistic because they were. Once he realized he'd been punked he settled down, but he was really hot when he came back in as you could see from the video. In fact he actually went out on another normal ride with Jeff.”

Very creative and very staged.
