The camper car is silly because it's from a Jaques Tati movie.
He's the big goofy guy in the trench coat.
His speciality was making fun of 'modern' 50s life with over the top stuff like this.
His other movies include 'Mr Hulot's Holliday' and 'Mon Oncle (My Uncle)'.
