Re: Tread Lightly???

I was thinking it would be really cool to camp at the Glacier spot at the end of the show where he dunks the truck in the water. Would love to camp there.

Re: Tread Lightly???

I did Fish Creek (first part of the show) back when it was still a Quigley with 265/75-16 Cooper STT's. and have been to Kink Glacier many times (about 2hrs to the Trail Head) as it is close by. Only when the Mud gets deep are any of the places they went real chalanging. If you go with NORMAL throttle you don't get bounced around like they did.

Re: Tread Lightly???

Tread Lightly is a term we don't take lightly up here. We have Built Vehicles just for tundra use that have very low ground pressure.

Tires are called "Rolligon" and exert very little ground pressure. The rig above can run you over and not hurt you. 2lbs per sq in.

This Guy has a set for sale... http://anchorage.craigslist.org/pts/2177918005.html wonder if I could fit them under the van...

Re: Tread Lightly???

Oh and the Truck is a Hybrid too. Like a Locomotive it's engine runs a large Generator and then the Tires are driven by a Friction Drive roller at the top of the tire.
