Tread Lightly???
Last week I watched the latest version of Top Gear. Hollywood shows America how to tread lightly.
This is a long download...so long I gave up, but here is the link for you high speeders.
Top Gear
Talk about giving the off road community a black eye. The show is funny, but they didn't exactly embrace the tread lightly rule. YMMV

Re: Tread Lightly???
Without paying, I could only watch a couple of minutes. They didn't even have the trucks yet when it stopped.
Nice Alaska scenery though.

Re: Tread Lightly???
Not paying to watch it, plus how accurate is it to buy trucks with an unknown maintenance record at 150K miles. I guess I'll TiVo, I'm curious what idiocy they did (from the intro: "Let's floor it over these boulders!")

Re: Tread Lightly???
Yeah didn't get a chance to test the link...I'm way too slow here. The Alaskan scenery is fantastic, but those guys did some real stupid stuff. Typical Hollywood. Worth watching (for free) though.

If you'd like to watch the full episode "free" here's another link.

Re: Tread Lightly???
As bad as it may be, probably nowhere near the damage to perceptions of 4 wheeling than all the commercials on TV for nearly all 4 wheel drive vehicles on TV. The ones where trucks and SUVs are speeding around dirt and rocks at stupid speeds.

Re: Tread Lightly???
That's how we all drive up here, full throttle at all times!
It is amazing, I have been everywhere they went (and more) and by using my throttle properly had no troubles at all and no breakage (knock on wood) yet. Up here the trail system is different than the lower 48. The Tree huggers Subarus can not make it past the Trailhead and unless they want to hike for weeks they can't get to most places. Denali Nat. Park is one of the only places where travel is restricted. But I agree that watching Full Throttle antics give us all a bad name.
