Unfriendly Michigan

While heading to the UP and while there, every lil burg and hamlet has a sign posted, NO ONSTREET PARKING 3 - 6 AM. We had hoped to stealth camp. Eat in restaurants, take in a movie, walk the marinas, crash out , then leave early...not 3 AM. anyone know whats up with this? Is this only enforced in the winter for snow removal or what? We were turned off by the parks and campgrounds, too many coaches. Any badgers know what this state wide ordinance is about?

Re: Unfriendly Michigan

i would asume they are local ordinances. If you wanted to dodge the class A's you might want to try state and national forest campgrounds. There are lots of them in the U.P.,beautiful ones and A's for the most part stay clear of them.

Many years ago I found California like that, basically everything I could think of had been tried enough times they put a sign up. Horrible feeling. Ask at a marina if you can parking lot it.
and then
everything changed
