Re: Use of interior Rearview Mirror
Did I mention yet that I have a green tinted back window and an orange tinted back window?
Drives me freaking crazy!

Re: Use of interior Rearview Mirror
I use it to see which kid just tossed the ball the hit me in the back of the head. It is strategically pointed so I can see the side gaucho. It is also an overpriced thermometer. If I need to see what is directly behind me I use the backup camera, otherwise that is what the nice side mirrors are for. I have driven vans most of my adult life, some didn't even have rear windows, you can't really count the bubble windows we put in during the 70's as a window. The golden rule is to back up only when you have to, and if you're going to, back into the parking spot, rather then having to back out later when you go to leave.

Re: Use of interior Rearview Mirror
One of my early jobs was driving a 24ft box truck in NYC. Since then I prefer my sideview mirrors and don't normaly use my rearview, even when driving a car.

The price you pay, I guess, for getting the last stock rear opening window on the planet (at least according to the PO).
You can see it pretty good in this pic of my niece and nephew:

Re: Use of interior Rearview Mirror
Sorry, all the vehicles I drive at work don't have rear view access via a mirror. I'm used to it.

Re: Use of interior Rearview Mirror
So you to be clear, if you are using the rearview to see passengers, or miscreants throwing things at the driver, or for a thermomemter, and not using to see out through the rear of the van, that would qualify as a NO in the poll.

Re: Use of interior Rearview Mirror
If I could find one that has all the features mine has now but also has a radar detector, and a clock, I would swap out the one I have. (Too bad radar detectors are illegal in some states). But I would still not use it much to look toward the rear.
