Funny thread! I think the fever may be contagious. My wife scowled at the van purchase and then rolled her eyes at the KO2 on bead-grip wheels “investment”. So I researched and agonized for a week on whether to buy a Viair or the more expensive ARB twin compressor to air back up after back country excursions. Finally I asked my better half whether I should buy a good basic compressor or spend twice as much to get one that is three times faster. “Definitely go for the faster one” she said. Could have knocked me over with a feather!

My wife actually found this van so I can blame her for any rabbit hole we go down with this thing. After years with the Westy, the last few musing over upsizing to a Sprinter/Transit/Promaster, she was looking at CL one morning before I had a chance to see it and asked, "Isn't this the van configuration you mentioned?" Sure enough, it was; very high roof, tall side doors and stock side barn doors.


She's also the one who, after our second or third Westy camping trip, told me she was glad we'd gotten it. The world needs more women like that.
