I guess one word? “Explore”.

A little off topic but maybe we should throw the cheesy stuff at ya.

Why I bought it:
“Live life as if you were to die tomorrow”.

Ready to head out on a trip:
“Turn the key, hit the road, and when you come to fork in the trail take it”.

Response to an individual saying you don’t need 4WD on a web site I write for:
“I don’t think of my SMB as a camper, rather a comfortable shelter that can climb to places most RV’s can’t”.

Looking at it when I got it home for the first time:
“Where have you been all of my life”.

Sitting on my driveway:
“Money Vortex”.

For you married folks:
“Polygamist”. This would only apply to me if I owned 2 Sportsmobile's

Diesel fuel prices:
“Could a had a V-10”. (Seems someone here already said that).

Neighbor complaining about me warming up my motor:
“Too _______bad”. Insert word(s) to fit like I did.
Too, oh does it bother you? I’m so sorry, I’ll just drive away with a cold 10,000 dollar motor and ruin it, bad. Ya, like I said that.

Traveling by myself:
“Are we there yet”?

On a bad Jeep trail:
“Please don’t break”.

On top of the highest peak:
“CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!”.

When I meet a backpacker on the trail that won’t yield:
I know what you're thinking. "Is that a gas or a diesel" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a Sportsmobile, the most powerful van in the world, and would blow you clean off the trail, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?

What the backpacker said while I passed by:
“Even a caveman can drive it”.

I’ll stop here.

Back in 1996 I was up in California behind Big Sur. I was in the middle of a 2 month country-wide road trip, and in a 2wd van. I stopped at the top of a gravel road, just where it turned steep and started to get interesting.

I turned back because I didn't know if I could make it back up, or how bad it got.

So for me it's that I never want to be 2,500 miles from home wondering what's down a road that I want to take but don't.

Quote:
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
How far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Well said, Jage.
Many times when driving across country alone I have sat in my Astro van pondering the wisdom of taking an unpaved road. I always turned back.
Now the odds have changed.
