Re: Conversion Van Winter Blues

My wife quilts too, I'm not showing her this video!!!! Nice quilts.... I have that same Singer machine it was my Mothers, Im surprised your wife doesn't have a Bernina. If you have cabin fever then go camping, Winter in my mind is the start of the camping season.

Great Vidio Dave

Re: Conversion Van Winter Blues

The Singer Feather Weight was her grandmothers. Yep, she also has a Bernina. The Feather Weight with its rugged and compact carrying box is what she takes in the van though. Feather Weight is more van size.

Correction: She has a Viking and a Brother (for every 60 minutes sewing time there is 30 minutes of repair time...uses it mainly for straight stitching now). The Singer Feather Weight is a very tough, small, well built machine.

Len and Jo:

Did you guys do the conversion yourself and build all of your own cabinets, or did you design it and have someone else build everything? Your rig is so well-designed!

Re: Conversion Van Winter Blues

This is our second van we converted. Learned a lot from the first one. Woodworking is my hobby. Or design goal was a touring van for extended (1-2 month) trips. Study designs for lots of small wooden boats. Everything has its place and everything in its place - a sanity issue.

Re: Conversion Van Winter Blues

this is what is great about this site, the remarks about a great thought out
van designed to fit a couple that i can just tell that are happy in their lifes travels.
respected by many with professional built vans that see the workmanship that went into
the conversion to make it the home away from home that it is.
many thanks for posting .
drive slow and enjoy "its the journey"

Len, I really dig the Youtube video. Thanks for the tour! It's helping me out with my cabin fever. Your woodworking is quite nice. It's very obvious you've studied small boat interiors, it looks like one!
