Re: Eli's Awning Brackets

Did you have to bend the brackets for the PH clearance when its down?

Didn't have too. But it's close, real close.

It possibly would be a problem if you had an electric Penthouse since I manhandle / benchpress my penthouse with two solar panels manually; sliding it to the left or right.

I had to be careful and avoid the brackets by moving the Penthouse coming down to the right clearing the brackets, then move the penthouse in closer left.

I can't see how any bracket design would not do any damage if you 4x4, either with our without the awning itself.
I plan on slipping off the awning from the brackets and removing the brackets too when done camping..

Wow! Reviving an 8 year old thread. That may be a new record. Kudos to you for searching for what you need.

Here's the story....I'm pretty sure. Eli is long gone and gave/sold the design of his brackets to Zeta, another defunct member. Zeta made them for a long time under the name Z awning brackets or Z's awning brackets or something like that. Zeta sold his SMB and moved on and then 1der (Ray) took over the design and sale of them. If you contact Ray for his brackets you are getting the latest and greatest Eli/Z bracket. They are superior to Sportsmobile's craptastic brackets. I had a set on my old van and lots of us do. Ray is a swell chap and will fix you up.

Hi! I am new to the forums here but am looking for Eli's brackets. I have a 2010 ford e-250 with a penthouse top and want to get a mounting brackets for an awning without drilling into the van. Any contact info you could share would be amazing! Thank you!

Calling 1der.............(Ray is the guy who sells these now) I'm sure he will chime in quickly, and his brackets work great.
