Esprit de Four Clinic, Hollister Hills SRVA 5/19

Here are a couple of pics from my 4WD course last weekend. The second photo is much steeper than it looks! More pics to come.

Welcome to the forum, Armlock.

So, how was the handling and performance in those rocky and contoured conditions? Did you reach the suspension limits?

Is that a Pueblo Gold?

Jeffrey, My van color is light tundra, which I call "river rock green"
I don't think I reached the limits on the suspension, but I think it was getting close. I made my way through each of the obstacles that day. The first picture is an obstacle called the stairstep. The second picture is called the ravine. The very first obstacle was called the frametwister (check youtube under hollister frametwister). I'm trying to get pictures of my rig on that. The van was very capable, much to the surprise of some of the participants. The key was paying attention to my spotters. They were great. I believe that if I had front and rear lockers, it would have been even easier.

armlock: When you say "course" was it a class of some sort or did you just go out to Hollister and put your van through a obstacle course?

PeasBugs, I'm sorry if I did not clarify my explaination. I took a "4WD Safety Clinic" at Hollister Hills SVRA which was hosted by a local 4WD club called "Esprit de Four". http://www.espritdefour.com (They are located in San Jose.) Seeing that you are in Soquel, I would highly recommend this class because it will show you what your SMB can do under the proper supervision. Each obstacle course had multiple spotters to help negotiate the vehicle. It was a great experience!
