getting started

My 2008 EB 250 had the 4X4 installed by Kelowna Truckworks, British Columbia, Canada. It is scheduled to be camperized starting Feb 8.

Re: getting started

Love those rims, kind of '70s old-school.

Re: getting started

Thanks Herb! Wasn't sure if I wanted black or chrome. Trent, from Truckworks, came across these for me. Can't wait 'til van is complete!

Re: getting started

Aside from the aesthetics, which I love, to me they seem like a better idea than fully painted/powder coated rims. It's always the edges of the rims that get beat up from rocks and tire installation tools, and this way you don't have to worry as much about the paint/powder coat getting chipped. That and even though I have all black rims on my SMB, I think the all black rim has been done to death.

I actually tried to find black center/silver edge rims for my Bronco a number of years back but couldn't find any that would fit.

Re: getting started

Well, I have been in love with Sportsmobiles for years now. But, with living in Canada, there were too many unanswered questions about getting one across the border. So, I chose to go with a company in Richmond, B.C. called Coast Outfitter for the conversion.

Re: getting started

Looks great! Can you give us more info about the conversion? And how much did it cost, if you don't mind? Also recently heard about Sportsman 4x4 in BC doing van conversions, but don't know anything about them.

Cheers!
Mike.

Re: getting started

Thanks mike. Don't know any thing about Sportsman. Truckworks cost 13000 CAN dollars + rims & tires. Quadvan quoted us 12500 US dollars. Don't know if it included rims & tires. A place in Kamloops, B.C., called Clydsdale, quoted us 17000.........again don't know if included rims & tires.

Re: getting started

Your Quadvan quote did not include rims and tires.
