HAS ANYONE BEEN ON THIS ROAD?

I'm sure one of you has been down this road before.
Was wondering where it is. Any help?
Please don't tell me it's been Photoshopped
It's beautiful scenery and I'd like to check it out sometime.
This is the link where I saw it http://seethesouthwest.com/1125/pecos-n ... oric-park/
Seems to be in the NM area and related to Pecos National Historical Park.
Doesn't it seem like the spot in the movie Forest Gump where he decided to stop running, out in the middle of nowhere? I Googled that and came up with this link to Monument Valley in Utah http://digiphoto.us/pages/mvapproachroad.htm
maybe I answered my own question. Sure looks similar but perhaps a different road.

thanks!

Yes, it's Monument Valley, which spans the AZ/UT stateline. Fabulous destination. Awesome scenery. Looks like this:

With a guide and a 4x4, there are many backroads to travel on and much more to see.

Here is a trip report thread that I went on from last year. Although the trip included more than just Monument Valley, you will get a good idea of what is out there off the main road.

Re: HAS ANYONE BEEN ON THIS ROAD?

There use to be a very thorough map titled Indian Country Guide Map available at AAA , it had many side trips and information not found on any of the other available maps . We found it very useful on all of our trips into this area over the years . It included the entire Four Corners area as well as comprehensive info
on the surrounding State and National Parklands .

Re: HAS ANYONE BEEN ON THIS ROAD?

According to Wikipedia it costs $40-100 to take the dirt road through the reservation.

They have the same photo as the opening photo in this thread. It was taken 13 miles north of the Arizona/Utah line on 163.
