I took a couple of glamour shots of my new van this afternoon, and I offer them below for your viewing pleasure...
As you can see, it is not the well-loved "Desert Tan" color, but more of a Dirt/Bag Brown. The color is actually quite nice. The paint is in good shape (for 15 years old), except the hightop clear coat is peely and fading.
The interior is where Adventurewagen vans really stand out. Extraordinarily well thought out and warm. There are about a billion neato touches that I will document as I uncover them. Things like the portapotty has a cover that is made from the same material as the seats, so it works like a footstool when it's not working with any other kind of stool. It has a stowable dog ramp (PO had an elderly dog) that is carpeted in the orig Ford carpeting. Just all kinds of cool stuff.
I should have pulled the bound-carpet throw rug to show the parquet flooring, but I failed. Two way fridge (110v and 12v). Techy battery monitoring system. It's got two solar panels on the roof, AND A THIRD ONE ON A TRIPOD with a long wire that plugs into the bumper, so you can park in the shade and still collect a few photons.
I am very pleased with this deal.
