How much is my SMB worth?

Howdy fellow Sportsmobilers!
I am considering the sale of my rig to help put the kid through college. I told her she could live in it and save $$$ on the on campus housing and meal plan. (That went over like a fart in church...) Anyway, can any of you kind folks give me an idea what my rig is worth? Thank you in advance...

I am in the Los Angeles area.

Year: 1996
Manufacturer: Ford
Body: Regular Body
Mileage: 155000
Engine type: Gas Engine 5.8L V-8

The van is 2WD, but has a 6" suspension lift and nerf bar running boards. It has 15 inch custom wheels with new, big, nobby tires (Less than 1,000 miles). It has an upgraded differential. It has Aluminess storage bumpers with the tire carrier and generator box. I added a custom hitch-mounted bike rack with a frame-welded hitch. I put in a new thermostat, radiator, O2 sensors, and computer. I had the A/C system completely rebuilt and recharged. It has a Ravelco engine disabler security system. The house battery is less than 6 months old and the engine battery less than a year old. It has a great Alpine single-CD stereo. It has an electric fridge, a 10-gallon fresh water tank, a sink, and two propane burners. It has a port-o-potty. I rigged it with a 100W removable solar panel with voltage monitor and has a 110V power inverter. It has a removable canopy.

What do you think?

I say 17k to 19k.. you got the bumpers. Can't tell if you got the custom bumper from the pics. Dana 60 rear axles? Full Floater?

If it was 4x4, add +-8 to 10k.

Nah, that's low.. I'd say high 20s. It's pretty loaded, bumpers, etc.

But if you want to sell it for $17k, I'll take it. I'll wire money today!

I'd say low to mid 20's.

The interior looks nice and its not turquoise or salmon colored like a lot of the mid 90's SMBs have. Price it high and if you don't sell it, sell all the Aluminess stuff off of it, then drop the price for the amount you sold the Aluminess stuff and sell the van.

I was going to say "sell it in California," but I see you already live there!

I can't imagine much else to do that would raise the value enough to justify the hassle of doing it and get a ROI more that what you spend. (Other than 4x4, and I don't know that you make a profit on that anyway.)

Vans in general are a sellers market right now IMHO, I'd list it for $29k and see what nibbles you get.

As far as adding 4x4 to make more that's probably a losing proposition. With Agile in socal you'd be lucky to increase the value to what you'd spend on the conversion. Now if you did. UJOR conversion yourself then you could make money on your labor, possibly.

Hard to say. A 1996 class B van without the lift, pop top, bumpers, etc is around $10K in good condition. I think $20-30K range is certainly a reasonable value given the options listed, but don't think it will sell fast at that price. There are a ton of options that would probably work better for most people with a $20K or even $10K camping gear budget. They don't seat a lot of passengers and their not practical for daily driving. What little passenger seating there is is not very safe for families IMO, which further limits your buyers. Lot of people going to roof top tents, tent trailers, and all terrain pop ups. I'd rather tow a pop up than to convert my passenger van into a camper van. I think the lack of 4x4 opens you up to a lot more competition whereas for some people a 4x4 van is the only piece of equipment capable of filling all their needs.
