Lov'in My New CCV Penthouse Top

Lov'in my new penthouse top from Colorado Camper Van. The guys at CCV did a great job. Everything was finished very cleanly and worked perfectly.

Being 6'-5" tall, I went with the high top. I love the added head room (I can actually sit up in bed) and longer bed length (7'). I also love that we can store all bedding in the top while it's down, which saves a ton of room below.

I went with the insulation package and was glad I did as the first night testing everything out it was 26 degrees. I slept fairly comfortably in a good quality sleeping bag and no heater, although it will be one of the first items added.

Next is a seat upgrade, then some interior cabinets, fridge, stove, port-a-potty…

We love ours as well. So much more room and storage space that we haven't yet figured out how to use. And it was great to meet Otter at CCV, we dropped our vans off on the same morning.

It sure was great! I know we’re both pretty darn happy with our choice. Hope you’re having fun!

The difference between the CCV & Sportsmobile top amazes me - everytime I see the CCV hightop/poptop I'm closer to pulling the trigger, it's simply a great combination. Good looking set-up you have (Van & Top).

There's no question, it's a BIG investment, not to mention a BIG decision. Having a huge hole cut in the roof of my van scared the crap out of me and reading through the threads about some of the problems others have had, regardless of manufacturer/installer, didn't make the decision any easier.

I'm kinda glad it took me 2 years to save up the $ while I did some research, looked at what others had done and talked to a whole bunch of folks about their tops. Ultimately, I decided it was a big part of why I wanted the van in the first place.

My experience exactly.
