Re: Lucky

We just received 6 of the dual usb and 10 12v for your old/our new van. The usb are dust proof but the 12v are listed as waterproof so we'll be installing two just behind the suicide barn door probably above the wheel well for outside usage. We've decided to put them on a switch so we can cut the power to them most of the time.

That's a lot of outlets! New van has a bunch of old 12v cigarette type plugs, and I don't know what to plug into them now that I've got the USBs.

Re: Lucky

Since we're going entirely 12v we'll need a bunch. Plus, in a 9 by 6 box it's a pain to have to move to plug something in . Two are for the outside and two are for the dash, we dislike where the factory ones are, so six will be dispersed in the main living area. One for fridge, one for fan, one for small 150watt inverter when needed, one for MiFi amp when needed, laptop... Really we want to be able to move the fan around to get the best airflow so having more plugs should make that easier. Two of the dual USBs will be also going up front so we'll have four of those in the living area. We originally planned to have one outside but they say "dust proof" cap and not waterproof. It will live just inside the barn doors for the times it's nice enough to have them open.

Your van is looking good. Ours is looking naked and afraid. We've stripped her down to build her out and just sold the Renuel bumpers to a forum member, he can announce it when he's ready. We'll try and keep our build page updated since you know her well. She has a big appointment coming up!.

Re: Lucky

Just a note to look at the amperage availble to each USB. Some of the sockets have one high current (2A) USB socket, and one low current (1A) USB socket, so be sure to look at your device requirements.

Heard a rumor of the bumpers sale, glad to hear you completed the deal.

I'm guessing the appointment means a trip to Fletcher?

Re: Lucky

Good point. I'll test wire one and check to see if both sides can charge an iPad Air. I can also try two higher draw usb devices at once to see if it can handle the load. I'm not a fan of the green led they have on them.

Re: Lucky

Had a little friend in the penthouse this weekend!

He wasn't amused when we evicted him.

Wicked!

Yep Rob, I got the bumpers. They're heavy! But I'm stoked.

Re: Lucky

We went back and forth on replacing or not. That Renuel rear bumper is definitely best in class. I'm hoping you have them all cleaned up and installed by Expo East.
