^ Yep. When that line snapped, it moved past my door at a pretty good clip! If it was steel, that could have been ugly.

I woulda been fine though, and that's the important thing.

Haha, of course!
I remember you stepping over that line while it was fully tensioned though...thinking I would NEVER do that. But then I almost did it as we were scrambling around to get tow gear in place. Both our girlfriends are still alive and we still have all of our testicles. That's a win.

Wow, glad to hear you both have working testicles (and girlfriends) Putting a dampner on winch lines seems to be a good idea. Even a jacket will help out if something snaps. By the way, the photos look like that was at the motocross track under the bridge. Yes?

Nope, the motocross track is on the Feather, a little west of the Yuba. They team up a bit south.

Hey Jeff!
I never said our testicles were still working. Can't speak for Robb, of course. I just said they were still intact.
Glad to hear from you again!

I went through that recently. Fingerless work gloves are your friend

I just caught up by reading the last 2 pages which I had missed. I like how Robb has the casual control of flip-flop recovery. And I thought 86scotty had a corner on the off road-flip flops.
Glad no major damage, thanks to the Film Crew and sounds like a good 'technical problem solving' all around!
My son finally fixed his rack and pinion so I'm gonna bug him again to teach me how to winch
