I have posted a pic of a jack screw driven by an electric drill but what if I leave the drill at home? So I made a manual jack I can leave in the van. This is the prototype I will make another that is 6 inches longer and I think that one will get the top over center and zero lifting would be needed. Also with the jack (manual or drill driven) my wife will be able to raise the top.
That idea is great and I might just make a similar one for my wife. I'm thinking a 3/4 angle iron with a coupling nut welded to it and your cool style handle will work. Then a pulley so she pull it down and not do pull-ups with it.
