My newer SMB - 2012 Ford EB

All,

Last August, my van fetish urges got the better of me again, and I purchased this 2012 Ford EB V10, which was residing in Florida with 23k miles (now has just over 25k):

I was fortunate to get it out of Florida before Hurricane Irma hit. Not that anything would have happened to it, but I felt fortunate it was in Georgia when the hurricane came through.

Since acquiring the SMB, I've added (with the assistance of my incredible brother-in-law who is a great mechanic) the following: Bushwacker fender flares, a backup camera, tint, a new radio, a new black grille, an Aluminess swing-away tire carrier, and a new front Thunderstruck bumper (note that the bug deflector addition and grille was all me!). As you may have noticed, we removed the running boards.

I recently bought a Stowaway Swingaway frame and mounted a Pelican box on it, for additional storage (in lieu of weight restrictions I would have had on mounting an Aluminess box).

My niece will be dropping it off at Quadvan at the end of June, and I'll pick it up mid-July, with a 2.5 week trip back to Ohio.

I'll also note that I used Vulkem 116 to fill the rain gutters, as I had learned from 86Scotty in his posts.

It was already a low mileage van that looked great - you've been busy these last several weeks! Cant wait to see the Pics once you've completed the 4x4 upgrade.

Great idea, ctb! I think if I write “free beer” on the side of the van, it could lure a few of you, including 86Scotty. He and many others including yourself are a wealth of information and ideas that keep burning holes in my wallet, but it feeds this passion we all have with these rigs, and it is fun.

Van is looking sweet. That front bumper is a monster. Can't wait to see it with the 4x4 and different tires/wheels.

Hi All,

My wife and I picked up our newly converted 4wd SMB from Quadvan in mid-July, then journeyed back home to Ohio over a 2 week period. Here are some pics of the van.
