Thank you for all of the compliments on our van! We are already enjoying it. We took a weekend trip to celebrate our wedding anniversary this past weekend. We got to experience the Kentucky Blizzard of 2015. The van did wonderful on the snow covered roads, but we didn't like thinking about all of the salt that was getting sprayed on the under carriage and the body.
As for the color, my husband and daughter wanted the desert tan, but as you can see I won out.
@rallypanam: There are a Hella lotta lights on the van! That means it is Hella goooood.
Funny thing is my husband thought we needed an additional LED light bar on the front. We will probably end up with one sooner or later.
@86Scotty: We are in Northern Kentucky. It is nice to know you are in the Knoxville area. We travel to and through that area quite often headed to Western North Carolina. We will have to meet up.
@Sheriffdoug: Yes, our two vans would look great in a pic together! Let us know your whereabouts when you are in the US (May/June). We do have plans to travel west in July, but it could be that you will travel east during your travels, if so definitely let us know. We will get together for that pic.
@MKRyan: Interior pics coming soon. It is an EB50 layout.
@4x4sporty: Great to know there is another KY SMB. Let us know if our travels may cross here in beautiful KY.
@BrianW: Yes, you are correct on the "attention getter". We are already getting a lot of attention. I think that is a big reason my husband wanted tan instead of red.
@yvrr: Yes, we already in that mode of taking pics of the SMB everywhere. I guess it is natural after waiting so long to get one. Our cross country trip was also a quick one since we had to get back to KY for our daughter to get back to school. We couldn't enjoy the scenery and too many stops along the way due to time constraints. So, I guess the next best thing was to take pics of the van where we did stop!
@Bellpilot: We had SMB Fresno build the van. It took them a while to get the van in stock from Ford after ordering it. That could have been because of the color, not sure. Once SMB Fresno had the van, it took them 3 months to complete the build.
Here are some pics of the snow on the interstate from Monday:
