Re: New To The Fold

Under Construction!

Here are some pics of my ongoing interior build.
Fold up bed goes wall to wall. Folds up flush to walls.
Four factory captains, E-Track rails, electronics and bike fitment all being located.
Cabinetry is not in.
I will be able to change configuration.
As you can see there are incomplete areas.

Hauls two bikes, seat four, sleep four, in its various set-ups.
I will be able to strip the interior and load pallets should I need to...
Simple yet useful (for me anyway).

Re: New To The Fold

max,

Great photos of the van's progress, thank you!

Who did the installation of the rear-floor storage box? Is it the one from SMB?

Are Van Specialties prices comparable to SMB?

Re: New To The Fold

very nice.. thanx for the ideas for hauling my race bike(s)... already got the etrack but how did you secure it?. would love to see how that space looks you put in the rear floor!! great idea. also, can you explain your power set up on the drivers rear? I will be carrying a generator and want to be able to supply power to the whole van like I used to in my trailer. also, what flooring did you go with.. I was thinking about VanTred for the rear...looks similar.

Re: New To The Fold

Thanks racrx.

The E rail will be bolted through the floor. I do have wood underlayment also.
The floor material is basic rubber almost exactly like the stock rubber floor.
Soap & water and its clean.
Electronics shown are the inverter, a battery charger for shore power to charge the house batteries, and a circuit breaker box.
I am running three batteries (two 6v in series & one 12v) or shore power in my van - I won't be using a generator.

The in-floor storage box is in many 4x4 vans built by SMB or Quadvan.
When you see a tire mounted on the rear its usually because there is an in-floor box.
Its huge, holds most all my tools, winch remote and a chainsaw.

I'll explain my set-up more when I have pics of the interior completed.

Going Strong!

Hello all, big giant bump! Rarely around these days but I am eight years in to our 4x4 Ford van ownership.
Van has been good, and it is still in mint condition!
As its creeping up on a decade old, I am 'refreshing' things a bit.
The V-10 well... you know... I am finally uncorking it. I have done a Magna Flow muffler in the stock system. Virtually the same quiet sound but uncorked slightly. Just picked up a K & N intake for it and I will install very soon. Then putting a 5 Star tuner in it. Hoping for better power & shifting, fuel mileage I will guess will be about the same.
I also have an appt at Agile for their RIP upgrade, on the 31st to be exact - hoping for a better ride. A couple of years back I went from 4.10's to 4'56's and bumped the tires from 285/70-17 to 295/70-017. I'll stay there with tire size.
68K miles on my '10 van... we have used it selectively!!!
Cheers to all.

PS. Funny all my photobucket pics still remain, its the ones directly off my computer that are wacked (upside down)

I have my K&N intake system installed! Guaranteed hp & tq they say lol.
Along with the Magnaflow muffler I do feel the mighty V-10 is uncorked slightly.
It really needs a tuner in addition.
Doing a trip from Wa state to socal in a week. Visiting Agile.
I always track mpg's - we'll see how this trip goes.
Fresh tires to come upon my return from this trip. Either Toyo Open Country R/T or Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

Looking forward to socal and the surrounding areas, motorcycle included!

Bump. All these years later and I still own this van!
Its not a 'keeper', but I have kept it this long.
Cheers

Love the fold up bed. Does it follow the contour of the wall when it’s stowed, or is it flat? It’s hard to tell from my phone...
