Re: New To The Fold INTERIOR!

This is a great looking design! Very versatile!
Can you tell me what vehicle the 3rd and 4th seats are out of? And do they have a quick release/attachment that fits easily onto the base?
Thanks.

Buffalo, my seats are out of another 2010 van, take-offs, which I found on ebay I believe. You cannot buy full spare seats from Ford unless its part by part (expensive!). I got the pair for about $550, a bargain I hear.
Do a ebay or google search, some will turn up. Try this http://www.ebay.com/bhp/ford-passenger-van-seats
Aftermarket pedestal bases have a swing lever for quick release from the base, and a seatbelt quick release on the wall - pretty slick.
Thanks for the compliment.

Hi, I'm really late to this thread, but love your ideas. Is your spare tire rack an Aluminess? If not, could you share where you got it? Thanks...........Arctic Traveller

I can answer that. Yes, it's an Aluminess. I've got one (scored on Craigslist)..

Re: New To The Fold INTERIOR!

Great looking rig!
Love the fold-down beds. A couple of questions - What are the bed platforms made from and what are they padded with?
Also, I can't quite see to tell what the hinge mechanisms are? Can you explain a little further or post a more detailed photo?

THanks

Phil

Re: New To The Fold INTERIOR!

Haven't been around in a bit gents... 5/8" plywood for the fold down beds. No padding only carpeted on both sides. We use various inflatable mattresses for our needs.
The bed hinges are piano hinges which I have seen up to 96" in length.
As some pictures show, I can drop one side singly for solo camping (deluxe!) or drop both sides for the love shack.
Really, I drew up the design, and Van Specialties in Portland Or. built the interior.
Detail work is a result of a sharp builder. Van Specialties has some guru's there.
If you question your skills, and live on the west coast, you owe yourself to at least chat with Van Specialites.
Can I plug them any more???

Your interior is phenomenal. By chance what does something like that run from Van specialties?

Way late to this party, but you couldn't have built a van closer to what I had in mind if you had gone off my own drawings! Thanks for the great thread!

Also, I know it's been beaten like a redheaded step child, but what wheel/tire size are you running?
