Re: New toy

How's the moto now that you've had it for a week? I hope you've made some time for some quick rides, even if it is just commuting to work! Hope it's working out great for you.

I love it, just what i needed went out and checked on some of my boon-docking sites yesterday and had a great time.

The dual sport tires are a little spooky but the new knobby are on the way.

I did explain to the wife that I do need to get a smaller bike for single track and that this one is only for light off road and commuting she didnt go for it.

Im supper happy this bike, it was a great find. I dont think it has ever been off road before.

Re: New toy

Yeah, I'm sure a KTM 200 would be a perfect compliment to the KLR!

As I grow older (wiser?) the utiltarian in me kicks in and the KLR would seem to deliver perfectly if I could only own a single moto. Glad to hear you're putting it to use!

Maybe not the best overall dirtbike but the KTM 200 is off the charts in the fun factor. My 02 non-stock 200 SXC hybrid. It will do the desert but lacks reserve safety power and is the most fun on singletrack.

Re: New toy

Some times bad things can be fun.
We are going to flood here in Jackson Hole (Snake River), The reason is there is way to much snow still on the mountains and the weather has been cold so no gradual melt,

Today it was 84 degrees and the snow is all melting at once hence the flood.

But until the flood the lake which is south of us (Palisades Lake) has been letting out tons of water in preparation of this flood. Which has left a dry almost flat lake bottom for me to play in and that makes me a happy man.

For those of you who have lake beds you play on every day I envy you. it is something I would have to travel 6hours for.
