Re: Our "new" SMB

Anyone visiting Alaska stop in and say hello. I am usally at work in Anchorage at Alaska Leather (corner of Minnesota and Spenard) but on Mondays and Tuesdays in the summer I also teach people how to ride Motorcycles.

Re: Our "new" SMB

CONGRATZ on your new SMB looks great!

Alaska Leather....Hmmmmmmmmmmmm I have always wanted to make myself some chaps to wear around the barn. What’s a tough durable but comfortably wearable leather I could use? Most chaps are made of cow split leather I suppose. Also need a pattern. I have some moccasins made of elk, buffalo and deer. Very rugged.

Alaska, always wanted to live there.

Re: Our "new" SMB

Thanks for all the replies!!

My wife and I returned last Thursday from Moab. It was great!! I had planned to meet up with some other SMB owners and run the White Rim Trail but in thinking it over, I changed my mind. I wasn't sure what the van would do in 4WD and was worried about becoming a trail liability. We explored all over the area, starting with easy stuff and culminating with a run up the beginning ledges to the Poison Spider Trail. The van exceeded my wildest expectations! We had such a good time, we called our cat sitters to say we were delayed due to weather. We didn't tell them is was too GOOD!

We are currently in Skamania Lodge in Washington state. We saw a really nice SMB at the Walmart parking lot in Hood River today. It was gold/tan with Oregon plates. We didn't see the owners around and couldn't wait too long. We'll be here for a few then off to Anacortes, Wa. to see an old friend (and maybe buy a kayak or two).

Yes - Daisy Mae definetly knows how to use a pillow and steal the blankies at every opportunity!

I'll post pics when I get a chance to resize them.

See Ya on Da' Road!!

peace,

Bob, Amy, and the nit-wit twins

Re: Our "new" SMB

2wheelbob, you should have driven around the neighborhood when you were in Stevenson. There are two nice SMB's here and that's a lot for a wide spot in the road like this. Ours is near the street where everyone can ogle it. The other one is in Baja getting a suntan instead of the snow we had today. Actually, there's a third, but it's just the pop-top. We see quite a few in the Hood River area --- windsurfers seem to like them.

Re: Our "new" SMB

We'll be on the lookout for you! I sure wish I was in Baja but I've gotta do the work thing to keep the lifestyle going. You might see my wife out and about with our two dogs. She hiked all 4 miles of the trails around the lodge this A.M.

peace,

Bob
