After being deployed to fight the Southern California wildfires at the end of an already very long season I was able to escape the other day. A little getaway before going back to my regular full time gig in the city.
Winter in the red sandstone desert is my favorite, it's good for the soul.

We've got family just north of the Thomas Fire and friends a ridge away from the Lilac when it went off.
